the start of roots.

It's been just over two months since we bought our house, and it's actually starting to feel like ours. Sure, there are still plenty of empty, dance-party-ready rooms and most of the walls are bare and boring, but this past week, I finally sunk into the mindset of feeling settled — of feeling rooted to something. To me, there's nothing more calming than a true sense of place, and maybe it was my sipping morning coffee on the deck with friends, or sharing a sunset dinner with Radley, or finally learning how to jimmy the lock on our blue front door, but whatever it is, our house as at last become our home.

Is it me or does something about this house remind you of your Glen Ellyn home? Glad you are settling in!
