It's been quite the process, but after a whirlwind, rollercoaster of a month, it's finally official: we're homeowners! As of yesterday, we own a house in Marin — on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge — and we're absolutely thrilled and excited and just a bit nervous. Change can feel strange for a little while, but we can't wait to dive into this new chapter and settle into our life here.
We'll be living just a half-mile from Radley's parents, on a hill in San Rafael that overlooks the town of Terra Linda. There's a two-story deck and a garden and an office with built-in bookshelves (sold!), but after years of city living, let's be real — we're just excited to have a dishwasher.
While picking up the keys last night, we'd planned to take our time and have a mini photo shoot by the for-sale sign, but we were way too anxious to run inside, so this fuzzy Instagram photo is our only picture of the moment. (Sorry, Mom.) In thirty years, though, this is the picture I'd rather have — the one that captures our blurry, blissed-out expressions, the one we could hardly sacrifice five seconds to take, both of us too overwhelmed and exhilarated to stop for a photo.
