It was an ordinary day filled with ordinary things. I followed my usual schedule, saw the usual people, carried out all the usual tasks — everything went as it normally does. But as I walked along the sidewalk, hands tucked into my pockets, the streetlights flickering on as night fell, I realized that I felt elated, thrilled, so deeply satisfied and content. And I hadn't even noticed because it was normal.
When the ordinary somehow feels extraordinary, there's just nothing like it.
