weekly wellness | week 10: practice

Weekly Wellness is a community-driven project that Meg and I developed to focus on a more mindful lifestyle. You can keep up with our three-month project by following the conversation here, on Meg's blog, and on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #WeeklyWellness.
Last week was all about reconnecting — and, on the flip side, disconnecting. I steered clear of social media, shut down my computer, and checked out of the blog world for a week or so. I stayed away from technology and in its place I hiked, ran, spent time with our families. We visited a museum, went to the skating rink in Union Square, read, wrote, and had one of the best weeks of the season.

As one friend put it: "There's just something to be said for real life, you know?"

This week, we'll be translating all that extra "me time" into a new hobby. Is there something you've always wanted to try but, for whatever reason, hesitated to actually do? Have you started and stopped something again and again, never allowing yourself enough time to really see it through?

I'm curious: What's the first hobby that came to mind? What will you try? Do you wish you could sew? Want to learn to bake? Hope to join a volunteer group? A sports team? A book club?

Whatever hobby you choose, make this the week you really go for it.
Because, well, why not, right?

The first hobby that came to mind was sewing. I have never tried it, but always wanted to.

Love this little series!
