... that sleeping in on Saturday mornings is good for the soul.
... that homemade peach pie on a warm, sunny afternoon is also good for the soul. Bonus points for adding a giant spoonful of extra-sweet, homemade whipped cream.
... that purging half the contents of your closet will instantly, magically lift a million weights from your shoulders — and that a closet filled with only the things you actually love is quite possibly the most incredible thing in the whole entire world. A wearable closet? What a novel idea.
... that sleeping through your alarm on a Monday-ish Tuesday is totally acceptable.
... that the recipe for calm can be rather simple: open windows, a cool breeze, a book, some sun, and a big, cozy robe so soft and plush that wearing it makes you feel like a polar bear.
... that a lived-in, super-soft chambray shirt always wins. Thank you, Madewell.
... that nothing beats a well-curated bookshelf lined with all the authors and trinkets and keepsakes that help to define you. Except maybe a well-stocked bar cart. Some days, it's a draw.
... that everyone needs a friend who's just a bit too much, because too much is sometimes just enough.

Such a beautiful list! xx
@sahara you're the sweetest! thank YOU! :)
@jackiek right?! the. best.
Combine the sleep-in, the pie, the robe, the bookshelf and the bar cart and there's the makings of a pretty good day!
I had a massive purge of my wardrobe this past weekend as well. Felt great! P.S. Lovely snap! :)
I'm a firm believer that a well stocked book case and bar are essential :)
YES to the closet purging! I always find myself on the verge of doing it then putting it off again...it would be easier if I only had to look at my most loved items when getting dressed tho! :)
Everything you just said... yes! I purged my closet over Labor Day weekend and it feels so amazing. So many of those clothes were a waste of space. And you are right- a closet filled with only your favorites is such a wonderful closet to open! I'm loving it so far. :)
And as for super-soft chambray? I'm with you on that! (Although mine isn't Madewell, it's J.Crew... sadly they closed our Madewell here in Annapolis. :(
So glad I found your blog! I'm in love! Come over some time and say hi and http://likeordinarylife.com
