gentlemen of the road: the monterey stopover.

I've gone on and on about my love for Mumford & Sons — and I've been lucky enough to see them live once before — but this weekend, we went to their Gentlemen of the Road Monterey Stopover and... I don't even know what to say. Best live show I've ever seen, hands down.

We saw Slow Love, The Apache Relay, Two Gallants, Gogol Bordello (whoah), and Mumford, and at the end of the night, all the bands played one last song together: "The Weight." Oh, and the miracle of all miracles? Somehow, I managed to maneuver my way to the third row, 6'7" husband in tow.
Still reeling... and counting down the days until their new album comes out!

I'm curious: What's the best live show you've ever been to?
Are there any must-see bands you'd recommend?

I just saw their stopover in Bristol VA/TN and it was so amazing. Did you see The Very Best at the end of the show? They put on an unbelievable performance in Bristol - epic dance party!

Apache Relay is a group of people who went to my college, I know them! They're great. And Gogol Bordello is one of my favorite live shows to see, I saw them about four years ago in Atlanta and then again at Bonnaroo. But my all-time favorite live shows: Avett Brothers, Regina Spektor, Jay-Z, Devendra Banhart, Fiona Apple, Ben Harper. Glad you had fun!

Mumford is amazing live! I was super lucky because my boyfriend works at an audio company and got us backstage tickets so we got to rub elbows with them and later have drinks with them!

Matt Nathanson! In concert he is more like half comedian, half singer-songwriter. Better live than his albums I think. Jealous of your concert, looks amazing!!

Jack's Mannequin is the best band I've ever seen live. Been my favorite band since my high school days. The way the lead singer, Andrew McMahon, plays the piano and jumps on it at the end of every MUST see them live!

I would recommend seeing The Lumineers. They put on a realy fun energetic show! The Swell Season/Glen Hansard always puts on a great show. That man can sing! I also love Ray LaMontagne, Jason Mraz, and Lady Antebellum.
