Strolling through our neighborhood, I can walk just a few blocks and suddenly feel as if I'm in a totally different city. It's one of my favorite things about living here: the sense that just over that hill, or just around that bend, I may find a place or a person or a view that's completely unexpected.
To me, San Francisco always seems full of surprises — and I love surprises, always have. There's just something about that thrill of being thrown off. That tiny little pocket of magic in your everyday.
And a city, a home — a love that can spark that kind of easy, spontaneous joy?
Well, it's enough to make a girl grow roots, I think. It's enough to make a girl stay.

yes, that's a good reason to make me stay too
I agree! Have you walked all the way through Golden Gate Park yet? That will make you feel like that too!

I love the bit where you said "It's enough to make a girl grow roots." I'm still searching for that place. And I totally agree that San Fran is full of surprises!
