March 16, 2012

a calm morning.

I awoke to the smell of rain and vanilla (leftover from last night's candle), put on this song (courtesy of my music-obsessed coworker), and let myself lie there for a few minutes — something I rarely ever do.

It was the perfect beginning you know? The sort of morning that makes you feel like throwing open a set of shutters all Cinderella-like. Not that I have shutters, but you know what I mean.

So this, I think, will become the new routine: a scent-and-song waking.

Sounds like a lovely way to wake up. Add some coffee in there and I'd be a happy girl. ;)

This is a beautiful way to start off the day! If only I had shutters on my bedroom window, I would totally throw them open and start singing with the bluebirds. :)
