what i've learned from... my brother david.

The funniest guy in the room can be the nicest, too.

Be honest. Always. With yourself and everyone else. Don't judge them, either.

Don't be the girl who wears a lot of makeup.

When the Cubs are (still) disappointing you, focus your attention on hockey.

Don't talk too much. You'll annoy your brothers.

Boy Meets World is amazing. So is Saved By the Bell and Ninja Turtles and The Price is Right... actually, all game shows are amazing.

Let go of people if you know it's the right thing to do. It's okay. Really.

Learn how to win games: try a headstand during Marco Polo, hold your cards when you play Rummy, and get the first move in chess. Oh, and buy hotels in Monopoly. Lots of them.

It's good to change, yes, but be consistent in who you are at your core.

The peacemaker role can be tough, so just make them laugh. That does the job as well as anything else.

Work hard and save. Take extra shifts, help coworkers, and don't complain.

Reach out to everyone in a group—get to know the outgoing ones, the shy ones, and occasionally the annoying ones, too. Learn to find the good in people. They can surprise you.

Speak up if you think someone needs you. Sometimes, that's all they actually need.

And when you really care about a person, you shouldn't have to constantly remind them. Your actions should make it obvious that you care, and they should just know.

even though there was years of being driven nuts by three little brothers, their advice has never failed me (well, almost all their advice) . 'don't talk too much' sounds very familiar ;) really though, lovely words of wisdom.

my brothers are way younger than me, but sometimes what they say in their innocent youth simple words is just what i need to hear.

let go of someone is hard. but we'll adapt and it's gonna be okay

HA! I loved "Don't talk too much. You'll annoy your brothers." My brothers would absolutely agree with this one. :)

@Michelle Buettner Haha right?! I think that might be a universal brother/sister issue...
