the season that passes too quickly.

We've settled into a rhythm lately, an everyday routine that's so smooth it's making time pass quickly. Radley's started a new job—one that's 9 to 5 in an office just a block from mine (!!), which means he's my favorite new commuting buddy. It also means morning runs together followed by coffee and breakfast dates, meeting for a quick hello in the middle of our workdays, plus open evenings that we fill with homecooked food and friends and, okay, "Friday Night Lights." We're happy and overwhelmed and excited. Time is passing so quickly, though... Wasn't it Christmas, like, two weeks ago?

For me, spring is notoriously fleeting. One second you're wearing a winter jacket and the next, Fourth of July rolls around. It's a season that tends to get skipped over sometimes, one so busy and exciting ("Warm weather! Summer!") that it seems to get lost in the shuffle year after year.

This year, then, I've decided to create a springtime bucket list—something I usually reserve for summer. Each June, ever since I was little, I've made a giant list of all the things I'd like to do throughout the season, things as small as "Order ice cream from an ice cream truck" to big things, too, like trips or goals or finally, finally putting together a scrapbook of photos. The habit forces me to sit down and think about where I am, where I want to be, all the little things I'd like to do in between.

I'm in the midst of a list right now, but I'd love to hear your suggestions.
What would you add to your springtime bucket list?

For the spring I would love to get good grades on my finals, see Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, see Bon Iver (though this is unlikely considering prices), visit my best friend in LA, enjoy the beautiful weather by sitting on a bench alone with my thoughts, visiting the turtle pond on campus etc. Can't wait to see your list!

well, first i want to have my final paper presentation then graduate college. after that...traveling, bungee jumping, more water sport, see The Killers concert, and i'm so excited about my upcoming film and reality show projects...that, and a cup of coffee and a really good book. then i'm contently complete.

I've been reading your wonderfully beautiful blog for a while now and love how you write--and now love that you watch Friday Night Lights! I recently became obsessed with it as well! Beautiful post today!

- plant flowers

- walk through a grove of fruit/nut trees while they're still in their flower-blossom stage (very anne of green gables)

- buy a new spring/summer dress/skirt

- spend more time out of doors (my summer's are too hot to spend much time outside)

- annual spring break beach camping trip in malibu

Put all of the things I've purchased from an ice cream truck into a scrapbook.

Beautiful picture! You're so right, spring does fly by in a flash. And why should bucket lists be only reserved for the summer? :)

plant some geraniums on my balconny (which i've done during winter - but i have no flowers yet)

watch 80's and 90's movies with friends on friday nights

eat one of those tradicionals cream cakes - lisbon traditional baked goods - by the river under a tree on the park

return to some pools i used to go to with my bestfriend when we were young (we're not that old now but you know)

make another awesome discovery like joanne harris book's to read on the summer

life seems to short to do all of this things when i'm only 23 and i work so much during the week...i need time to have fun
