rain, finally.

I spent the past week soaking up the sunlight—cherishing the bright blue skies and the clear sunsets—knowing full well that the rainy days were on their way. It arrived this morning, the rain, and I'm surprisingly thrilled. There hasn't been any rain in weeks, hardly any at all since we moved here, and I've been missing that mood—the mood that can only be found on a rainy day.

I listen to music more often when it rains—quietly, so I can still here the drops. I drink more coffee. I read more, write more, take baths just because. I send letters and draw and watch movies I've meant to see for years. I cook—stews and soups, foods that leave you warm and fulfilled. I clean and catch up with friends, occasionally attempt a craft, and in the mornings, I lie there—half awake, half dreaming—and watch the water blur the view from my window.

Yes. I've missed the rain.

I miss that feeling - I'm in london so we get the rain so often that I guess you forget to treasure it.

It's viewed as just an annoyance now.

But I know what you mean - before I worked that was how rainy days were. I miss them.

Music and the rains! Best combination of something man-made and natural. :)

I, too, am a huge fan of rain. Especially since I moved to Arizona. :) I've heard NorCal is getting a lot of rain, according to my family, and I am crazy jealous.

Laura, I have been reading your wonderful posts and seeing your luminous
photos and it all just reconfirms that you are truly the bright light I have always thought you were. I have never told you this, but I have had a nickname in my mind for you for many years and it is "Laura Borealis"! So glad you are finding your bliss. Xoxo.

Ahh you and me are exactly alike! I love when it rains because it forces me to be creative & do things like reading instead of watching TV. But movies are a whole different playing field. I love a good movie and warm, cozy fire going.

Love, Love, Love Rain.
