2011: a year of blessings.

2011 was without a doubt one of the most special, incredible years of my life. It all started with a Tahoe New Year's trip with our best friends—followed by a Chicago "Snowpocalypse" blizzard that left us snowed-in for nearly a week.  In February, for the first time ever, I read my work on the radio (and managed not to stutter or laugh while doing it.)
Ten days of March were spent in New York City, where I squealed at the Friends apartment building and finally lived out my Sleepless in Seattle dream. That same week, my mom and I went to the most incredible party for Emily Giffin (and met Hilary Swank) before Radley and I eventually—inevitably—recreated the classic Times Square Kiss.
After a quick trip to Florida, I had a super sweet 24th birthday and became a (fairy) godmother. There was a day that I sort of missed having a broken heart, and another day when I re-fell in love with Chicago—and a really, really exciting day when I earned my Masters in Writing & Publishing.
In June I surprised a friend for her birthday and in July my life changed forever when Radley got down on one knee (!!) and proposed. We were more or less on cloud nine for the rest of the summer, basking in outdoor concerts and sunny days and, in August, celebrating our engagement with a seriously amazing party thrown by my parents.
Things didn't slow down in the fall: we watched my brother get married, I tried on my mother's wedding dress and eventually bought my own. We moved to San Francisco, spent Halloween as Maverick and Goose, and saw the concert of a lifetime. I also wore heels on a mini hike (genius), shared all the reasons I love Radley, and remembered the best lessons from my mom and dad.
Recently I fell in love with our new apartment and running the stairs outside—mostly for the view. I started working at Sugar Inc. full time, writing posts across the PopSugar Network. Mostly, though, I've been reflective and grateful lately, aware of how lucky I am to be here, to be with him, to have had a year filled with so many blessings that I feel I ought to list them out.
A big, huge, enormous thank you to Radley, my family and friends, and everyone who was part of this surreal, incredible year. And also, of course, a very, very special thanks to all of you. I'm so grateful for your support, your kind words, and your presence in this whole journey.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou and here's to a happy 2012!
