just for fun: dream dinner guests

Do you have a question or a thought that you return to again and again? Well, I have hundreds, but one that I've been thinking about a lot lately is the ever-popular Who would you choose as your dream dinner dates? There are a few no-brainers, of course: Oprah, Meryl Streep, and Hemingway.

But there are just so many others that I find it impossible to narrow it down. I've been trying to keep it to six people--that's a solid dinner group, right?--and it's been a serious struggle. Writers, actors and actresses, musicians, artists, inventors, designers, political leaders... There's Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly and (swoon) James Dean, but there's also Cleopatra and Gandhi, Elvis and Sinatra.

And that's the other thing: People tend to think toward the past with this question. I keep racking my brain for all the legends I'd like to meet, but what about all the modern day standouts? What about Tina Fey? And Ellen Degeneres? And the cast of Friends

And okay, let's just get right down to it: What about Ryan Gosling?

This, I've decided, is The Impossible Question.
But hey, just for fun--how about we all try to answer? :)

It will haunt you all weekend... You're welcome.

I can't even begin to answer this question! There are too many people, Jackie Kennedy and Kate Spade are just to name a few.

So many people!! Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Tina Fey, Thomas Jefferson, Shakespeare, so many!! How would you ever decide!? :)

@MJ @ Teaching in Heels Ooh Shakespeare, good one! :) (And yes, it's an impossible thing to answer... but fun brainstorming, right?)

Haha, ohhh dear. Best question ever! But ridiculously hard!

Have to agree with you on most of your list. Especially Ryan Gosling! YES. haha.

I would also like to invite Julie Andrews and Doris Day!
And most of the people from your list haha

That is a hard person that came to my mind though is Diana, Princess of Whales. I think she was so beautiful, and such a wonderful person and I would love to have dinner with her. As for the others..not sure!
But love your choice with Meryl Streep though. I think I'd have to agree with you there. I LOVE her.

This is so strange that this was your topic today! Tonight I went to see the play Top Girls where the opening scene is a dinner party with one woman and famous woman, fictional and not, from history: Like Pope Joan, a woman that disguised herself as a man, and Patient Griselda from Canterbury Tales, and others.

For myself there are too many. Although I admit that even just a dessert with Ryan Gosselin would be enough!

Have a great weekend! =)
