oh, just a quick (wedding) question:

As I sift through all the bridal magazines/websites/blogs/Pinterest boards, trying to narrow down which ideas are the best of the best, well, it's not always easy. So I thought I'd enlist a bit of your help: What have been some of your favorite parts of the weddings you've attended (or planned yourself)? Any little touches that you loved? Any Must Do's that you think I should look into?

P.S. If I'm being completely honest, truth is that a lot of our wedding is already planned... What can I say? I've thought about it a time or two... :) Still, I'd love to hear some of your thoughts!

P.P.S. Yes, I do look down at this ring 300 times a day and turn ridiculously giddy.

I've been a follower for a while, but I think this is my first comment.

Our wedding was outdoors in summer, but since it was near the coast we knew we might get a bit of a chill in the evening. We scoured IKEA and Target for fleece blankets on clearance and hit up Michaels and Dollar Tree for flip-flops. We provided both in large buckets near the dance floor at the reception and told people to take them home. Our wedding was two years ago and I still have guests who pull the blanket and/or a pair of flip-flops out of their car, say they still use them, and thank us for providing them.

Congrats on your engagement! Can't wait to hear more about wedding planning!

Are you getting married at USD? They have a vendor who puts tiny candles all along the pews...beautiful little tea lights. I fell in love with them. They were perfect.

+1000 to the flip flop idea! I love that!

I went to a darling wedding over the summer. The couple spent so much time with little details which I loved. They had a chalkboard with names listed for their seating chart, fabric squares for guests to sign that will be sewed into a quilt, and adorable mason jar candles and succulents on each table.

And, okay, maybe I loved it so much because they had catered Mexican food (El Indio!) ... and donut holes and cupcakes for dessert.

At a friend's wedding this summer, I thought it was adorable that they had parasols and little fans for each guest. The ceremony was outside at 11am, so they definitely came in handy! She also had small tubes of bubbles for each of the younger guests (and, let's be honest, not so young!) to play around with in the interim between ceremony + reception. i thought it was very considerate of her to consider the guests' comfort as well as the time they'd have while she and her groom were off taking the wedding photos.

I also love that flip flop/blanket idea!

And lastly, belated congratulations! The ring is absolutely gorgeous!

your ring is very stunning! gorgeous!

between working weddings and going to my friends i have my fair share of what i like. my new favorite is where guests put their thumb print on a sketched tree (like a leaf) and sign their name, the idea is so cute. wouldn't really work if you have a lot of guests though. another, is the new but most common new tradition is a photo booth. they are fun for guests and you'll get the memory of them there.

i have plenty more but i don't want to write a novel.
xoxo, jamie

hey laura!
my best friend just got married in september and im pretty sure i was almost (not quite) as excited for her as she was about getting married!
it was beautiful!..
its was the second wedding i had been too (previous one being my cousins when i was maybe 14).. but i loved it all!
i loved the speeches during the reception.. all meaningful in their own way.. smiles, happy tears!
one of her cousins made a slide show with.. kind of a virtual scrap book of pictures of them together..
something else i really loved.. was that all the decorative table centers on the guest tables were made by us (the bridal party).. since the bridal party did not all know each other it gave a chance to contribute to the wedding and they turned out well! :)
that is a beautiful ring..

The best part of a wedding is anything that incorporates the guests to participate, especially in praying for this couple in their new life!
