a list of little things | how to brighten a foggy day

Part Eleven in the List of Little Things series
How to Brighten a Foggy Day:
Make a coffee date with a friend. (Or yourself--People watching is underrated.)
Create a new playlist and sing/hum/bust a move accordingly.
Put on your most colorful, punchy lipstick. And shirt. And, in desperate times, shoes.
Read the first chapter of your all-time favorite book.
Run, walk, bike, scooter, race up and down the stairs: just move.
Shop! For anything--budget willing--or, well, nothing... (in which case you window shop.)
Go to a movie, maybe even a double feature, and snack on your favorite candy.
Rearrange your furniture or your bookshelves or any space that's yours.
Buy a magazine and read it cover-to-cover in one sitting.
Plan a dinner party/road trip/vacation/anything you can look forward to.
... Or, if all else fails, doodle. Yes, doodle. Because sometimes it really is that simple.

A coffee date and bright, punchy lipstick are my go-to's for downer days. Love this!

I LOVE Coffee Dates! You are absolutely right, sometimes it's as simple as the need to doodle! ;)

i'm about to print this off, promising myself that i'll do at least three of these things this week.

definitely pulled out "read the first chapter of your favorite book" yesterday.

Me and Oskar Shell (of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close) had a nice evening together last night.
