July 15, 2011

and so it begins.

Alright, it's official: Operation Move to San Francisco begins this weekend!

(Insert lots of whoops/cheers/high-fives here.)

After seeing Harry Potter today (obviously) and hosting a bridal shower tomorrow (for my future sister-in-law), I'll be off to California for a jam-packed week of apartment hunting, job interviews, and all sorts of moving-related business. We don't plan on leaving Chicago until mid-September, but in the meantime we're hoping to set some things in stone so that everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Oh, and the very best part? I'll be going with my mom--a seriously fun travel buddy--and since she hasn't been to the Bay Area in over a decade, we'll be squeezing in some tourist-y affairs, too. A little trip to Sausalito, maybe, or Muir Woods--and Michael's Sourdough. Yes, absolutely Michael's Sourdough.

Because, okay, let's get real here: food is most definitely one of the best parts of travel.

Yay! There's always so much to do in a big move...hope you get much of it done this week!! :)
And for food - be sure to stop by the Ferry Building for their farmer's market (and Hog's Island clam chowder + grilled cheese)! Food is absolutely one of the best parts of travel...especially in San Francisco! :)
Have a great weekend!
