May 9, 2011

a "something borrowed" marathon sort of weekend.

As I've mentioned a few times before, Emily Giffin and I are BFFs.
(A bit of backstory on our friendship here and here.)

Well, Emily--amazing, oh-so-generous person that she is--gave me quite the birthday surprise: two tickets to a special Chicago screening of Something Borrowed the night before its official release (!!). Oh, and as if that wasn't cool enough? Colin Egglesfield was there--yes, as in Dex himself :)
(Cue the squeals. Swoon.)

Yes, I loved the movie. Yes, of course, I cried. And yes, oh yes, Colin's a charmer--a charmer with a really, really impressive Tom Cruise impression to boot. (Seriously, it's a dead-ringer.)
... And, okay, if you have to know: Yes, I saw the movie again with my friends on Friday. And cried again. Truth be told, if I hadn't already made plans for Saturday night, I probably would have gone for Round Three... Dedication, people. Dedication.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou, Em!
It was everything I hoped it would be and more :)

You're so lucky!!
That is cool that you got to meet the lead actor Colin Egglesfield in person. Pretty cute guy, I have to admit.
I saw the movie yesterday. It was good. Of course things were changed from the novel, but it wasn't bad! I enjoyed it. And hello, my name was a lead character's name! What's not to love about that!

Lucky you, LM, what a sweet gift!

I just bought the book this past Friday night. I should be seeing the movie in the next week or two. What should I do first, book or movie? I haven't opened the book....yet. :)
