the homestretch.

As of today, I'm in the final homestretch of graduate school. In exactly two weeks--only two weeks!--I'll officially have my Masters in Creative Writing and Publishing.

There is so much to say about all of it... how thrilled I am, how inspired, how relieved. It's been quite the whirlwind, grad school. It's been tough and wonderful and I've learned more about myself--and, of course, about my writing--than I ever imagined. On the page things are smoother, more solid. And I suppose things are a bit smoother in life, too. (I have to say: I'm forever amazed by all the ways my writing and my day-to-day life tend to intersect. By how naturally, how gracefully, they braid themselves together into something quite like wonderful.)

All this is to say that I'm rather busy--to say the least. I've been doing full time and a half's worth of classes this quarter, so these final weeks have become just a tad, well, overwhelming. I'll be tucked away in the corner of a cafe somewhere for the next little while, but I'll do my best to check in regularly.

Oh, and I'll also be mourning the end of the Oprah show... (Seriously, I'm a wreck.)
So here's to finishing strong--for both me and Chicago's golden girl.

First of all---I love love love that picture! So nice. And so summing up my life.

Secondly, CONGRATULATIONS for being so close to getting your Masters! It is something I often dream of doing but frankly, I often feel like I am struggling against the sea of my undergraduate degree enough. One day, one day, one day! Fingers crossed for you!

It is just amazing that with all of that you still manage to post every day!

You (and Oprah) (and Obama, and Jordan, and Dr. Pierson) sure are something!
