the sunshine state (of mind.)

Just had the most perfect quick trip to Florida.

We went to St. Pete Beach for a family friend's (gorgeous) wedding last week and ended up having an absolutely incredible spring break--even if it was rather short. And sure, I was sick the whole time--which is never very fun while you're traveling... But hey, better to be feeling "under the weather" when you're in the sunniest, warmest kind of weather, right? :)

Usually Mondays are tough and overwhelming, something I need to survive. Not today, though. Because this week, my skin has a bit of a glow, my hair--and my heart--are a bit lighter, and I'm feeling oh-so-ready for the changing season. (Aren't you?!)

Oh, I grew up just down the street from there. The Don is so pretty. Makes me homesick.

I'm feeling the warm weather right now too! I'm in southern Alabama, right near Florida. It feels like summer here! But sort of humid sometimes. And that's not fun. And I miss the signs of spring!
But hey, you win some, you lose some.

So sorry to hear that you were sick but I love how you framed it with such bright optimism. I need to learn to do that---and I will, partly thanks to you. Have a lovely week!

You got to visit my hometown! Isn't it beautiful? I put the sunset picture as my background at work.. reminds me of home and keeps me motivated through all of this depressing NYC weather.
