We came to New York for several reasons: one, it's my last ever spring break; two, we've been meaning to go for a while now; and three, it also happened to be the same week as Emily Giffin's Heart to Heart party. (For those of you who are new readers, you can catch up on Emily and I's friendship here. We met two years ago--and since then, she's been a huge inspiration, a wonderful mentor, and a really, really great friend... I adore her.)
The event was held at Pranna to celebrate the upcoming Something Borrowed movie and the recent release of Heart of the Matter in paperback (hence our festive purple dress choices--please forgive the awkward solo shot.) It was such a great time, I swear I had to keep pinching myself to realize that everything was really happening.
Emily was sweet enough to have us sit at her reserved table so that she could introduce us to her agents, her publicist, and her friends--which just so happened to include Hilary Swank(!!!), one of the producers for Something Borrowed. (But seriously--cue the pinching.) It was an insane night, one I'll always remember, and I was once again in awe of how kind and thoughtful Emily is--she signed books for almost four hours while the party went on around her. What a gem.
It was quite a way to kick off our New York trip--almost like a scene from one of Emily's novels--and I'm pretty sure I'm still riding the post-party high... Let's just say this city's been very, very good to me so far.
Thanks again for everything, Em! BFFs :)
