March 1, 2011

a bit of breathing room.

For the past few days I've been at home--relaxing, spending time with my family, celebrating birthdays, and doing my best to shorten the high pile of work beside my desk. And as much as I love living downtown, as much as I usually appreciate the energy of the city, there's just nothing quite like the quiet of the suburbs--the calm of coming home.

And I absolutely live for the skyline, I really do, but it was such a welcome change of pace to find ice dripping like diamonds from the tree branches outside the window.

I wish I could say that I just pop on stilettos every day and play the City Girl part, but that's just not the case--not even a little bit. What can I say? You can take the girl out of the suburbs, but you just can't take the suburbs out of the girl.

I agree! Although I am not from a HIGE city, I am a suburb kind of girl. Way more quiet and relaxing!

Love it!

I'm like that too - I love visiting the city, and it's always fun. But at heart, I like the quiet and calm of the suburbs. I always debated whether I should move to a big city...and it took me a long time to reach this point that - I like to visit the city as often as I want, but at the end of the day, I need to go home to a calmer place and sleep in the quiet. That's just who I am :)
