isn't quite lost.

I have a rather strange confession: Sometimes, I will myself to dream things.

Just before I fall asleep, I'll think of a place or a person or a moment I miss, one that I once loved, one that I worry will be forgotten altogether someday. I'll imagine the smallest of details: colors and sounds and the feeling of a lightness in my chest.

And then, of course, I'll give a silent plea to the universe--Please, I'll think, please let all of this turn up tonight. Please don't let this go unremembered.

It's sappy and sentimental, I know. But it's a bit like the way I feel about writing... Because if I can find something on the page or in my dreams, then it isn't quite lost, is it?

Beautifully written... I love when a dream has a lost moment or a love that is no longer with me visiting...

I am genuinely drawn to this today.

Growing up, we used to pray and read the Bible together as a family before we went to bed. My parents believed the last things you read/thought would be the first that would find you in your sleep.

And now looking back, I can't ever remember having bad dreams in childhood...Funny isn't it?

My mom does this sometimes too. I've tried a few times but haven't had much success. Guess I should concentrate harder! :)

I get this feeling quite often too. I think that good memories has some positive power that can help to dream, to heal, to calm down. it assures you that better times will come anyway. because they did in the past. :)
