today i believe...

... that celebrating your best friend's birthday with sweet mandy b's cupcakes and a 90's party is, well, perfection.

... that early morning runs invigorate like nothing else.

... that a cozy, completely lazy pajama day--every so often--is absolutely necessary.

... that there's something to be said for the sort of friend who can make you laugh hysterically when you are most definitely not in a good mood.

... that emerson of emersonmade can seriously do no wrong.

... that if february feels like being warm and sunny and wonderfully clear-skied, that would be pret-ty fantastic.

... that asparagus soup (especially with garlic croutons) is surprisingly delicious.

... that short fiction is totally underrated--and that everyone should be required to read dorothy parker's work because she is a clever, character-driven genius of a writer.

... and that if, for whatever reason, someone has made an impact in your life, you should tell them.

I'm curious: what do you believe today?

I believe in everything you just said (as always :). But I also believe that knowing where your priorities lie is a huge accomplishment, that anyone who serves you a delicious meal is someone to love, and that making new friends is always worth trying for (and not being lazy to do so, which so often happens with age!). I love it when this series gets me thinking :)

Today I believe that....

*Joining a gym last week will probably be the best thing I've done all January (since that 5K wasn't so great).

*That a heart-to-heart over Mexican food will always be a great meal.

*that helping your younger sister cook (since I really don't know how) and telling our parents "dinner is ready" is one way of getting out of a familiar weekly rut.

these are all I can think of at the moment. I love this series you put up. always makes me think and agree. :)

Sometimes I get "I Believe" by Frank Sinatra stuck in my head when I read your "Today I believe..." posts. And I believe that is quite alright with me. :)

Do you have a recipe for the asparagus soup and garlic croutons? Because that sounds perfect for the 8-12 inches of snow they're prediciting.

Cute post, as always!

@Mocha Mornings I do have an asparagus soup recipe, I'll have to share it with you all soon! You're right, it's the perfect meal for this end-of-winter, no-way-is-it-still-freezing sort of weather :)
