a list of little things | feelings i wish i could bottle

feelings i wish i could bottle:
the time between sleep and waking when dreams still seem real.
that oh-so-heavenly aha! moment as inspiration strikes.
looking at a person and remembering, all over again, why you love them.
lighthearted nostalgia--especially when it sneaks up on you.
the nervous, elated butterflies you feel as you stand onstage, curtain rising.
the bliss of tasting that first bite of your favorite dessert.
the simple delight of opening up a letter.
the heady rush of adrenaline when you cross the finish line.
the sudden calm that comes from hearing just a few strums on a guitar.
the inner sigh that comes from a glimpse of the ocean.
and the joy of discovering the first signs of spring.

Oh, I so agree with every line here :) There are just those tiny little moments where everything feels so wonderful :) I would also add (after taking a couple serious meditation classes), the peace and joy and utter freedom you feel when you slip into the perfect meditative state :)

It's funny because I always say that I wish I could bottle people's voices/laughter - like a baby's laughter (which always makes me laugh) or a sexy accent (which I would rather bottle instead of asking the person just to talk randomly :).

Lots of things to be bottled. We could make millions! :)

"The bliss of tasting that first bite of your favorite dessert," I wish I could bottle that up too!

There are so many things that I would love to bottle and several are on your list, but we can't bottle them. I think that makes them more special, we appreciate them a little more because we can't take them for granted, so when these things do happen they take our breath away and nothing compares.

Very sweet post. The third one - looking at a person and remembering, all over again, why you love them - made me smile super-big. That is a feeling that I, too, would love to bottle.

I love all these! that first bite of dessert is always the best! :) it would be so wonderful if we could bottle all of these up for those days when we need a little pick-me-up. but I guess writing them down and reading them have kind of the same effect!
