today i believe...

... that homemade cornbread comforts like nothing else.

... that sunlight twinkling in the snow makes 12 degree weather semi-bearable.

... that cozy knitted mittens make you feel eight years old again.

... that better 'n peanut butter really is better than peanut butter.

... that menial chores--laundry, dishes, vacuuming--can be oddly therapeutic.

... that sometimes, only your sister can understand.

... that getting away, even if only for a few days, gives you room to breathe.

... and that awareness--in all its forms--is so, so important.

I love your "today I believe"s :) But for this list, I especially love the last one. I've took a really life/soul-changing meditation workshop this past weekend that taught me so much about awareness and how to get a little bit of distance so that you could come back to yourself. Awareness really is SO important! :)

i like the 'menial chores' one - sometimes vacuuming gives me the best 'thinking time.'

Dearest Star Pseud!
You are so right. Menial chores CAN be therapeutic :) This totally changed my perception today as I was cleaning my kitchen.

Hugs!!

I agree on the 'sister' post! I'm lucky to have my sister in my life.
I have never hear of Better 'n' peanut butter! Love the name!
Love all the posts you do by the way! Really thoughtful and thought provoking!

mmm. so lovely. except i can't stand better than peanut butter (but maybe that's because it reminds me of those years when i ate no real food and was a slave to the whims of diets that didn't work)
