morning musings.

Sometimes, things won't change. or people won't change. or circumstances won't change.
Sometimes, you'll want them to--but, well, they won't.

What must change, then, is you.
Your attitude, the way you feel about it all.

... So it goes, right?

So it goes. :) I'm re-reading Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and came across the idea that, rather than trying to change people, it would be much more beneficial to you and a better use of your time to work on yourself first. You profit so much more that way. There's no way people can change without them wanting to.

And of course, we've all had to learn that growing up. But sometimes it's still hard to accept.

I read your blog all the time and this post was really helpful to me today. I am 4 days into a horrible breakup and this post made all the sense int he world. Thank you.

Yep! Just the way it is some times. It can be hard to swallow, but I believe there is always a good lesson that follows. xx

totally true. Reminds me of the Robert Frost quote: "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."
