I'm back from san diego, back from the writers conference, back from a weekend that completely reignited my passion for writing... Sometimes, staring at my blank computer screen, waiting for inspiration to strike, I can forget what it is about this art that I love so much. But let me tell you: it is a very powerful and compelling experience to sit in a room with two hundred people who share your enthusiasm, who understand and appreciate the crazy literary lifestyle that you've chosen--and I am oh-so-grateful for the insight, the guidance, and the friendships that I've gained.

On Saturday, during his keynote speech, Steven Boyett said something so wonderfully true and inspired that I have to share it with all of you. His final words have become the one little gem of a phrase that I'll remember most about this weekend:

"What you create of your life is just as important as what you create during it."

And on that note, I'm done gushing about writing and words and California sun...
hope you're all having a great week!
