today i believe...

... that those first-day-of-school butterflies still feel wonderfully exciting, even when you're twenty-three and in your second year of grad school.

... that these sumtumn (yep, summer/autumn...) days feel refreshing and invigorating, like endorphins for the soul.

... that homemade garlic asparagus soup might just be my new fall staple.

... that chatting with strangers---especially when it involves teaching non-English speakers some of your favorite English words (winsome, lighthearted, crestfallen)---is a really refreshing reminder of how lovely people can be.

... that despite all your best efforts, you can't always be "on"... and that's okay.

... that returning, years later, to a place or a person or a passion you once loved, can warm and break your heart all at the same time.

Love those reminders of how "lovely" people can be! You'll have to share your garlic-asparagus soup recipe-- it sounds divine. :)
