a little announcement:

River to Well---a project started by Ken Chang, a friend of a friend---is a photo competition that raises money to build wells for communities in need. Last year's contest raised over $5,000 and brought the first well to the village of Ndhambi, South Africa---so last month, as soon as O heard about the project, I entered a few of my photographs to help the cause.

To be honest, I'd sort of forgotten about it all until last week when I received an email to let me know that my photo had received honorable mention and best natural lighting:
... I finally have something to show for my diet Coke addiction, right?

You can check out the gallery of winners here and for those of you who live near Lawrence, Kansas, the photos will be on display and available for purchase at the main event this Saturday.

This year's competition will be providing clean water to Kwadick, South Africa, so be sure to support the project if you'll be nearby!
