oh, just a little celebration.

Nope, it's not my birthday. It's just an ordinary Tuesday.
But hey, why not celebrate, right? There's always something to celebrate.

My mom is an incredibly kind, thoughtful southern woman who has a serious knack for inspiring you to love yourself and the world around you---and I feel very, very lucky to have her as a mother because she taught me from a young age to celebrate the little things... hence, of course, the title of this blog.

She encouraged me to acknowledge even the smallest of my accomplishments, asking me each night to name what I was grateful for and what I was proud of. But more than that, she encouraged me to recognize other people's accomplishments and the pride that I felt for them. It was a lesson in warmth and compassion that shaped me into the friend, the daughter, the person that I am today.

So today, sure, celebrate a few of your littlest achievements.
But celebrate somebody else's, too.

you are so ahead of your time and you should be thankful for that. your mother sounds like a very good and positive person in general, my mom says very similar things to me, too, to aknowledge the good things in others instead of just the negative.
like always, a great post!
