April 1, 2010

Yesterday was the city's first real day of spring. Think: t-shirts and shorts, runners and frisbee-throwers, all the bundled up-for-months Chicagoans stripping layers, coming out of hiding to revel in the sun, in the warmth.

It was the sort of day where you look around and realize that everyone is smiling, just as happy as you are - a sort of temporary, springtime pleasantville where happiness is universal.

I celebrated the day with a lunch date at this beautifully quaint
Vietnamese cafe down the street, simply it:
(Highly recommended for anyone in the area)

And well, guess what? Today is even more beautiful!

Oh spring, oh sun, oh shorts and flip flops, how I love you so.
