because some loves are permanent.

One of the most beautiful things in the world, to me, is the way you can care about someone just as much today as you did ten years ago--even if you've barely been in contact with them during all that time. 

It's like your heart has some sort of muscle memory, able to remember instantly all of the reasons they were so important to you in the first place.   

Oh, and I'm not just talking about past romantic loves, either--because your heart remembers the friends, hobbies, and books you've loved in the past just the same. 

And when, ten years later, you hear from that friend out of the blue--or pick up that hobby again, or open up the cover of that book--it's like a breath of fresh, familiar air. 

Your heart, then, picks up just where it left off.
Yes. Muscle memory, indeed.
