the white space

In life's busiest moments, we tend to keep spinning our wheels faster and faster: running down our to-do lists and checking off one task after another, relishing in the sense of accomplishment.

Being productive is wonderful, of course, but after a while we don't have the energy to spin our wheels quite as fast... and you know what? That's okay.

We all seem to feel so guilty and lazy and anxious when we aren't checking off one thing or another, but I think the greatest moments are the ones that aren't planned - the ones that happen somewhere in the white space between items A and B on your list.

So maybe just for today, give yourself a break.
Really, go ahead. I think you deserve it.
