a simple question

During my first class tonight,  we were asked a simple question: Why do you love writing? And while some people struggled to come up with something, my answer came right away...

... because writing words down gives them permanence, elevates their importance, and makes their message more real.

... because you can explore more on a page than you can in real life.

... and because without it, I'd have so many words and feelings and characters bouncing around inside of me that I'd never be able to focus on anything except wanting to set them free.

And all of this makes me curious: why do you love what you love?

i love singing because i can express emotions using my voice.
i love songwriting because i can explore the world through songs.
i love making music because you can gather so many stories and emotions through a simple piece.
i love this blog because it's adorable.

beautiful answer! I love things that make me more ME...a more fulfilled, happy version of ME. That's any number of things - writing, running, my fiance. They all help bring out the most essential and beautiful version of myself and I need to thank them for that.

I love teaching because my students will one day be part of a beautiful future that I helped to create :)
I love teaching because the moments of wonder and amazement in this world are rare, and I believe most of those moments occur right inside of my own classroom :)
I love teaching because I too am learning every single day from my little 2nd graders, and thinking about the wonderful things they teach me in return has my heart doing cartwheels :)

I love writing because

Wow, that is such a great answer. I never now how to answer these questions so maybe one day I'll quote you =P.
My basic answer which is not very original is that I love everything I love because it makes me happy, it makes me want to be better, it challenges me and gives me something wonderful in this hard world.

What a great question! It got me thinking, (i love blogs that do) and i know I love vintage clothing because it has a history, a past life, and although it's just fabric with age - it's more to me, it's a dress someone may have kissed her husband in, or shoes that danced through the hard times in someones life, 40 years ago.

Great blog, like the way you write.I shall be back! xx
