the transformation from house to home:

This new downtown apartment is starting to really feel like home... especially because today we chose some of our favorite pictures I've taken in the last few years and made a lovely little black and white mosaic above the couch:

(Centered around my favorite picture by i.anton of course!)
Here are the lucky chosen ones:
1. The Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin headlands
2. Fort Cronkite beach in San Francisco
3. The top of Mt. Fortuna at Mission Trails in San Diego
4. A "Sweet Home Blue Chicago" sign downtown
5. Grace Street, Washington D.C.
6. Port of SF, taken from the ferry
7. Chicago Theatre marquee
8. Amsterdam
9. The Eiffel Tower, of course
10. Sacre Coeur in Montmartre (my favorite place on earth)
11. Kauai's Tunnel of Trees
12. Lovely Mission Beach, aka my college home

There's just something about making a place yours and turning a house into a home... what have you done to make your place your own?

I just moved in with my fiance a couple months ago. Turning his place into OUR place really came down to the walls. It wasn't about the furniture or the dishes or the bed. What made the place "ours" was the pictures, the shelves with memorabilia, the framed accomplishments. Individual touches, pieces of "you" are what make a place "home."

btw, I adore those photos. Did you take a photography class? I've been thinking of taking one.
