and instantly, i remember...

Isn't it amazing how certain smells, tastes or sounds can instantly transport you back to a distinct memory, moment or place from your past?

I didn't start drinking tea until I studied abroad in Oxford - and then within weeks I got used to having about nine cups of herbal a day... Yes, it was love at first sip. Passion, english breakfast, chamomile, peppermint, french vanilla... I immediately fell in love with them all.

I don't drink it nearly as often anymore, but every time I do it feels as if I am back on Oxford's Banbury Road (below), British accents echoing around me and a cobblestone street beneath my striped rubber "wellies."
I remember the leaves crunching beneath my feet and the damp air against my face as I walked to class... the stale, wooden smell of the old pubs... the thrill I felt each time I turned a corner and discovered another gothic castle or college nestled at the end of the street.

I remember every detail - and then I pour myself another cup.

This makes me wish I was there. I am a huge tea drinker, and I don't know when it all started. I am the same way with music... some songs just take me back to a time in my life, some even make me want to cry! :)

Can we go back there together?
It would be so fun to be there again, at the same time. <3
